Along Colrain’s hillsides the apples grow larger, the cows, sheep and goats graze on the lush grasses. In the valleys the corn is now knee high and the farmstands are full. This abundance of nature inspires Colrain’s artists in their creative work. For the first time Crafts of Colrain presents a summer fair at Hagers' Farm Stand on the Mohawk Trail (Route 2), July 10 and 11. Stop by and discover why Colrain is “The town that inspires the artists.”
The hammering of metals, the rhythmic click of the loom, the buzz of the saw, the rustle of fabric beckon visitors to share the inspiration that stimulates Colrain’s artists. Ruth works on her latest quilt masterpiece, Leigh fashions another metal trellis for a garden lover, Cynthia stirs her homegrown mohair in colorful dyes and Joe captures the beauty of the surrounding hills. “Shop for our treasures and share our inspiration,” invites Pacifico “Tony” Palumbo.
Crafts of Colrain, which will sponsor its 7th annual November tour this fall, invites you to join many of the artists in their new Summer Fair. Visit the group under the big white tent at Hagers' Farm Market on Saturday and Sunday, July 10 and 11, from 10 to 5. For directions click on the map at left.
